Charlie Costello, a fictional Kennedyesque politician struggles to reconcile ideals with the realities of votegetting under normal circumstances, it is easy to know what to say to someone who assesses the problems of substance abuse as follows: "The Latinos and the Negroes have no respect, that's why they do the drugs." What would anyone say to this person if he is a registered voter in the district you want to represent in the state senate?
