Dancers
Directed by Celame Barge
They are between 17 and 40 years old, coming from all over Egypt, young girls, wives, mothers, they dance for a living. They are the dancers of Cairo among the popular class. At the hairdresser, in the “hotel” for dancers or at home, at weddings, nightclubs, on and backstage, the film follows them and tries to show the depth of a struggle under the make-up and the dance. A reality far from the cliché of belly dancing.
