Two young people—a chess player and a bar pianist—meet at a Berlin hotel. When a small-time drug smuggler dies right before their eyes, they take his money and flee to Paris. But their chance encounter doesn’t turn into a romantic affair, and their dream of striking it rich also comes to nothing.
