Level
Directed by Carlos Mora Fuentes
Level is an intimate meditation on life and death, interweaving personal experiences with reflections on climate change and the human relationship with nature. The line through the film is formed by the death of a father and the birth of a son, evolving into an exploration of the places we inhabit and how they shape us. Structured as a diptych, Level captures two distinct chapters: the first in the Netherlands, where Anna mourns her father’s passing amidst the open landscapes and dikes of Usquert; the second in Spain, where Anna and Carlos welcome their son Leo and renovate a historic house in the ancient valley of Miera.
