Mr Yang Seeks a Wife
Directed by Feng Hai-Tao
Back in the day, Yang Decai (played by Pan Changjiang) was a plain-looking, short migrant worker in the city. Through hard work and persistence, he rose to become the wealthy owner of a real estate company, worth over 100 million yuan. However, despite his success, Yang remained single—perhaps due to his appearance or his focus on business. To keep his elderly mother in the countryside from worrying, he lied for years, claiming he was married. One day, his mother insists on visiting the city to meet her "daughter-in-law," throwing Yang into a panic. Desperate, he turns to a matchmaking agency for help. Sensing an opportunity, the greedy agency owner Wang Cheng'en (played by Song Zude) assigns his top employee Liu Yingxiu (played by Zhao Lin) to handle the case. Hiding his true identity, Yang stumbles through the matchmaking process, leading to a series of comedic misadventures.
