Moved by ambition and the pursuit of easy profit, Roberto marries his widowed boss, owner of the farm where he worked, with the sole purpose of facilitating her death, and taking over not only her lands, but her entire empire. With the death of the widow, Roberto marries his lover Helena and cheats Nico, the widow's legitimate son, out of the inheritance.
