Persona Non Data
Directed by Dorothea Carl
Fourteen people tell the story of their flight from their homeland. On foot, in boats, with the help of smugglers, driven away by war, poison gas, torture, fear, and hunger. Some are still children, strengthened by the courage of desperation. They are accompanied by hopes and dreams. Their personal stories and experiences of arriving in Hamburg, in the district of Pinneberg, in container accommodation, of their sleepless nights and the sacrifices demanded of them by the paperwork, mingle with the space of banishment in which they are subjected to registration, restrictions on their actions, and controls. Not infrequently, only to be sent back quickly or perhaps only after decades.
