Smallpox tells the story of Juan, who is blind because his mother failed to have him vaccinated in time. In order to protect his wife and daughter from contracting the disease, the film carefully explains the steps they must follow when visiting a health center and emphasizes the importance of never refusing a visit from a public health nurse.
