Una Raíz
Directed by Andrés Martínez Ortíz
In an isolated cabin, Manuel cares for his brother Gustavo, who is immobilized and completely dependent on him. Their daily routine is marked by physical and emotional exhaustion: Manuel is trapped in duty, while Gustavo is consumed by pain and frustration. The arrival of José, an apparently kind stranger, disrupts this fragile balance by influencing Gustavo with ideas of freedom and detachment, leading him to question his treatment and dependence. As Gustavo gravitates toward this promise of liberation, Manuel perceives it as a threat, igniting a conflict between control and autonomy that pushes them toward an emotional confrontation over the right to decide one’s own destiny.
