Ramin Hosseinpour (born March 20, 1987, in Tehran, Iran) is an internationally recognized Iranian film director, architect, and composer, best known for blending cinema with architecture and rock music into a unified creative language. He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture and additionally earned Bachelor's degrees in Film Directing and Music. In addition to his directorial work, Hosseinpour is also a screenwriter and film producer, expanding his multidisciplinary practice across both artistic and academic fields. In addition to his work in cinema, Hosseinpour maintains a strong presence as an architect, conceptual artist, composer, and rock vocalist, acclaimed for his multidisciplinary creations that blend visual storytelling with spatial design and sonic experimentation. Since 2014, he has been a pioneering innovator in blending cinema with architecture and rock music on the international film and art scene, presenting works that merge visual storytelling, spatial design, and sonic experimentation. His signature project is the award-winning short film Sculpture (2022) - a conceptual video-art documentary that explores the intersection of form, space, and sound. Sculpture (2022) has received over 69 international awards and honors, including: Third Place (Semi-Finalist) for Best Short Documentary - Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (Academy Award®, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen Award-qualifying event). Nominee for Best Director & Best Documentary - Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF), a Canadian Screen Award-qualifying and Telefilm Canada-qualifying festival; Winner of the 2025 Jury Award for Best Short Documentary. Ramin Hosseinpour continues to develop avant-garde, boundary-pushing projects across disciplines, redefining how cinematic language interacts with architecture and rock music. He is currently developing The Pretender, a short animated documentary exploring the life of Attar during the Mongol invasions of the 13th century.
